Terms of use
Last updated: 31 October 2026
Effective: 31 October 2026
By using the Arclight website or mobile apps, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
Free and open source
Section titled “Free and open source”Arclight is free. The software, including the mobile apps, is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0). These terms do not restrict your rights under the GPL-3.0. If these terms and the GPL-3.0 conflict about the software, the GPL-3.0 wins. See Open-source licenses.
Acceptable use
Section titled “Acceptable use”You agree to:
- use Arclight lawfully and only with content you have the right to access, store or use;
- not use Arclight to infringe copyright or anyone else’s rights;
- follow the laws that apply to you;
- follow the rules of the indexers, trackers, services and providers you connect to it;
- not attack, overload or try to break the website, the push relay or other people’s servers.
The project hosts no media and does not provide, link to or endorse sources of copyrighted material. Arclight is a tool. What you do with it is up to you. See the Copyright and content policy.
Your server is your responsibility
Section titled “Your server is your responsibility”You run your own Arclight server, or you use one run by someone else. The server operator is responsible for the server, its users, its data, its security and its content. The Arclight project cannot access, manage or fix anyone’s server. See the Security policy for hardening tips.
Third-party services
Section titled “Third-party services”Arclight works with services we do not control, including Apple, Google, TMDB, MusicBrainz, Open Library, GitHub, Cloudflare, indexers, download clients and media servers. They have their own terms and privacy policies. Your use of them is up to you.
iOS app: Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the iOS app in addition to these terms. Apple is not responsible for the app or for support.
Android app: Google Play’s terms apply to how you get the app.
No warranty
Section titled “No warranty”Arclight is provided “as is”, with no warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. This matches sections 15 and 16 of the GPL-3.0. We do not promise that the software, apps, website or push relay will be error-free, secure, always available or fit for any purpose. The push relay is a best-effort service and may change or stop.
Limitation of liability
Section titled “Limitation of liability”To the fullest extent the law allows, the Arclight project and its contributors are not liable for any loss or damage from using or being unable to use Arclight, including lost data, lost profits, or damage to your devices or servers. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
Section titled “Termination”You can stop using Arclight at any time. You can delete the app and your data as described on Delete your data. We may stop or limit access to the push relay for anyone who abuses it or breaks these terms. Your GPL-3.0 rights to the source code are not affected.
Disputes
Section titled “Disputes”If something goes wrong, please email support@moviemethat.com first. We will try to settle it informally. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Changes
Section titled “Changes”We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If you keep using the website or apps after the effective date, you accept the new terms.
Contact
Section titled “Contact”support@moviemethat.com. For privacy matters: privacy@moviemethat.com.
